This is from that live performance in Australia in 2008 or 2009 I think. Excellent.

His voice sounds like it's cracking or wavering a little in this version. Like a goat or something. Is he doing that on purpose?

There are a number of possibilities. Your assumption is definitely one of them. Maybe he's tired and his voice is worn out. I am aiming towards the sound mixing of the venue because he's definitely has sounded better in different videos and that video was from Vevo, which is a channel I would trust to have great sound quality.

I think he was singing too hard, and his voice began to give out. I don't think he was completely sober either. However, this concert is one of my all-time favorites
